Thinking outside the box, playing out of bounds, or simply subverting a game by adding a third party – the Y-Kicker is a fascinating way to play around with these ideas. The Y-Kicker is an ingenious Y-shaped foosball table. The idea came to Ben Beyer spontaneously, but it was actually first conceived by the Danish Situationist Asger Jorn. In contrast to conventional foosball, in which the winner is determined by the most goals scored, in three-sided foosball the balls kicked into one’s goal are simply counted. The team that allows the fewest balls past their goal posts by the end of the match wins the game.
